Dear Friends:

 The Huasco Valley, threatened by the mining project Pascua Lama, is in danger.  Now, in addition to Barrick Gold's mega-mining project, there are at least seven other transnational mining projects trying to install themselves in the mountains which are the source of the waters of this fertile valley .  This battle is not yet lost.  The communities of the valley continue resisting and we are calling for a massive MARCH FOR THE DEFENSE OF WATER, in the city of VALLENAR, on SATURDAY, JUNE 2.  This is our oportunity to demonstrate FOR life, FOR the future of our children, and FOR the right to a healthy dignified life in harmony with nature.
